Raytracer is a native Autodesk Fusion 360 tool for sequential optical simulation, or ray tracing. I created this tool to allow me to work on optomechanical systems directly in Fusion 360, without worrying about editing distances or curves in one program, say Zemax, and forgetting to do the same in Fusion 360. Having optical simulation directly in the Fusion app decreases the possibility for mistakes and allows the user to perform simple ray tracing based on Snell's law at each surface.
RayTracer applies Snell's Law at each optical surface, and reflects perfectly off of any designated mirrors. This is all done directly in Autodesk Fusion, simply by pressing a button and filling out refractive indices, designated rays, mirrors and optically refractive surfaces. RayTracer is publicly availably on the Autodesk App website, and provides an accurate and economic solution to optomechanical design. Find out more at the link below or on the Autodesk App store.
